    Lesson One

 http://www.stonetemplepilots.com
 http://www.newsboys.com

7a.What are the similarities and the differences between the sites?

Both sites showed the group in the banner. The navigation bar for them was different. One had the navbar on the left side and one had it on top. I guess that where the navigation bar should be is both a matter of content and taste. The way the first site is done looks more colorful whereas the second is kind of bland. The links on the first lead to different pages that show different topics yet if you weren’t paying attention you’d think you were still on the same page which could be considered an asset. The News Boys website is very different. Each page is a different design from the others according to what type of information they are putting on display. News Boys site also had a player with their current album playing as a theme in the background.

7b.Which features do you prefer? Why?

I liked aspects of both of them actually. The color of the Stone Temple Pilots is much more vivid and alive. The contrast of the black background shows off the light all around the band with several deep enhancing colors. The variety of the News Boys site though, I really enjoyed. Each link takes you to a different look in the site. One thing that I really didn’t like about the Stone Temple Pilots site was that when you went into their store you couldn’t get out except for using your own back browser button.

7c. Can any of the features from these sites be incorporated into the Catalyst Website? If so, which features?

Several of the features could be incorporated into the Catalyst Website. The way the music played I thought to be an awesome attribute to the News Boys site and I would only have to find out how to and then do it. This feature could definitely, assuming their music is really great, sell albums for them. The News Boys also had a fan club which I think is a great seller too.
